What you should know about Surfers Paradise Bridge Club
The club was formed on the 13th of June 1982 by fifteen founding members and was first located on the Isle of Capri and later at the Senior Citizens Centre at Broadbeach. but Christmas Day. With these increasing numbers an extension was added in 1997 giving a capacity of seventy-five tables and sliding walls to partition the area so lessons and play could be conducted at the same time.
At the time of moving, membership was approximately 250 but this grew to 750 with playing sessions every day.
Over the years the dream of having our own premises was pursued and with building fund work, Gold Coast City Council support by way of leasing our site and finance and a State Government Grant, our present club rooms became a reality and opened on the 25th of October 1991. (more).
