Established in 1937, Burr ell is arrogant to have achieved more than 80 years in the business. We continue one of the end privately held booking firms in the country. Burr ell was established in 1937 when Harold Nettheim came to Brisbane on his honeymoon. Harold had worked for his broker brother in Sydney for abundant years, when his wife Marguerite suggested he buys a seat on the Brisbane Stock Exchange for the price of 300. The sole trader and staff of two persevered through the tranquility period of 19391945 prior business began to pick up. In 1957, Tom Burr ell joined the firm as the accountant and behind five years was admitted as a partner of Nettheim Burr ell Co. Harold’s unexpected death left Tom Burr ell as the only surviving partner of the firm. Tom took on his fresh responsibilities including personally trading at the stock exchange twice daily. Tom became a very energetic member and contributed greatly to the Australian financial services industry for almost 50 years. The next generation of Burr ells joined the steady in 1987 and 1997 when two of Tom's sons commenced. Currently, Tom's eldest son Christopher is the firm's managing director. Most importantly, we're primed for the challenges of the future, backed by the experience of the past.
