About me: I am a provisionally registered psychologist with the australian board of psychologists (ahpra) and presently work as a child/adolescent sexual assault counsellor, self esteem, post traumatic stress disorder, focusing on a range of presenting issues including trauma, self harm and anger. This means that my approach to practice is tailored to the specific needs and concerns presented by each person within a non- judgemental environment. I also feel that therapy should be client centred and individual. I believe in a high level of professionalism and ethical practice. I am predominately focused on humanistic oriented hypnotherapy, phobias, with an interest in weight loss, stop smoking and age regression/progression. Specialities: my areas of interest include, complex trauma, anger management, autism and asbergers spectrum disorders, working with children and adolescents, domestic violence and sexual assault counselling. Maintaining a strong understanding of current research and theory is highly important to me. Prior research experience has also been gained in the operation of an electroencephalogram (eeg), which resulted in co-authorship of a publication with dr. Malcolm mills at the university of southern queensland. I presently practice as a clinical hypnotherapist at mind care queensland. In addition to the degrees mentioned above, I have completed a clinical diploma in hypnotherapy through the australian hypnotherapy and training services (ahats). I have also completed an undergraduate degree in criminology and criminal justice at griffith university. As part of this specialisation, domestic violence, I have completed additional training/courses in areas relating to sexual assault, play therapy (including sand tray therapy) and working with children on the autistic spectrum. Health fund rebates are available for hypnotherapy.
