RBWH Foundation is also able to labor with community groups and associations to urge the work of the hospital and the importance of medical research. Apart from caring for patients, the Stroke team at RBWH are actively involved in research. Their focus is on determining methods of saving affected parts of the brain behind stroke, improving acute treatment and preventing secondary prevention of strokes. Current research projects at RBWH include: Stroke rehabilitation to improve tolerant outcomes, maximize recovery, prohibit lengthy term disability and assist people to return to the community and. The main aims of the research center are to: Improve both the survival and outcome of patients by conducting high quality research in the area of Burns, Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and anesthesia in general. This method is currently in practice at the RBWH where between 400600 critically ill patients are treated in Intensive Care per year. More lives could be saved, however, if this research can remain and develop. Since then, it has established itself as Australia’s premier research center for preterm births, focusing on improving the survival rate of premature and seriously ailing babies and the quality of life for both the baby and mother. Burns life is a program that assists burns patients and their families on their road to recovery and rehabilitation through peer support, education, and care facilities. Establish a community of burns patients who encourage one another through hospital, the transitions to home, back to labor or study, and beyond.
